  1. Teach your students what encouragement is.
  2. Put encouragement into school subjects:
    • Reading - Read stories with a positive message, and discuss how those stories are uplifting.
    • English - Write poems, stories, or research papers about encouraging people or events.
    • Art - Make cards or pictures that can be sent to family members or troops overseas.
    • History - Study about encouraging people, and what they did to make a positive impact.

  3. Have an assembly on September 12 with an encouraging speaker.
  4. Join a cause such as Clean Water and raise money for that cause.
  5. Have grades compete in raising money for a cause.
  6. Let the students wear hats, pajamas, or something else to school for donating to a cause of your choice.
